Recombinant adeno associated virus expressing hChR2(H134R) fused to mCherry under the SFFV promoter with WPRE and hGH polyA elements. The Cre dependent configuration enables expression only after recombination, providing precise optogenetic control of targeted neurons. Boca Scientific Inc Exontrap Cloning Vector pET01, Lyophilized DNA, 5μg
The Exontrap vector pET01 has an intrinsic splicing function that enables selective cloning of exon sequences from large genomic eukaryotic DNA fragments. This new route for the identification of eukaryotic genes does not involve an initial isolation of cellular mRNA, allowing genes that are not transcribed during certain life cycle stages to be identified. This greatly facilitates exon/intron mapping. The Exontrap function is based on a shuttle vector containing prokaryotic and eukaryotic genetic elements for replication in both bacteria and cell cultures. The vector contains a 5´ and 3´ exon separated by a 600 bp intron sequence that has a polylinker for cloning.

Duplex DNA is isolated from bacteriophage lambda (cI857ind 1 Sam 7). The bacteriophage is grown in an E. coli host which is deficient in adenine methylase (dam-). Therefore, those deoxyadenosine positions which are methylated in a wild type E. coli host are not methylated in the dam- host. This DNA gives complete digests with restriction endonucleases that are sensitive to dam methylation. Lambda DNA (dam-) is 48,502 base pairs in length.

ΦX174 Virion DNA is the single-stranded viral DNA isolated from bacteriophage ΦX174 am3 cs70. It has a molecular weight of 1.70 x 10^6 daltons and is 5386 bases in length. Greater than 85% of the molecules are circular.

This commonly used cloning vector is the double-stranded nicked circular form of ΦX174 - relaxed form. Its molecular weight is 3.5 x10^6 Daltons and it is 5,386 base pairs in length. Greater then 90% of the molecules are RF II, the remainder are RF I (supercoiled) and linear ΦX174 DNA.
New England Biolabs, Inc. M13mp18 RF I DNA – 10 µg
M13mp18 is the double-stranded, covalently closed, circular form of DNA derived from bacteriophage M13. This phage vector contains single HindIII, SphI, SbfI, PstI, SalI (AccI/ HincII), XbaI, BamHI, SmaI (XmaI), KpnI (Acc65I), SacI and EcoRI sites within the -Galactosidase gene. When a fragment of DNA is inserted into one of these sites, the -Galactosidase gene is inactivated, providing selection for clones on the appropriate indicator plate.
